Thanks for creating an account on Well-being Solved. You're one step closer to improving your well-being and wellness.
So what should you do before launching into the content?
Firstly, when you create an account on Well-being Solved, the app onboarding will launch. This will encourage you to log your mood and write a journal entry for the first time. We recommend you make a start with these simple functions.
Also, don't feel pressured into doing all the well-being activities on the app. Well-being Solved offers a variety of mindfulness tools, allowing you to choose what works best for you.
For many, meditation brings to mind an old sage sitting cross-legged, chanting or humming. And for them, meditation might not be right for them. Though that is a very stereotypical description of meditation. Read on to learn more about meditation and what it actually is.
You may find that you get most benefit from breathing exercises, and that's great. Just do what works for you. Just try to approach each well-being tool with an open mind.
Let's look at some of the tools available to you.
Mood Tracking
Try to get into the habit of tracking your mood throughout the day. This can help you understand if there are certain parts of the day where you feel more positive, happy, or relaxed. With this knowledge, you can look for patterns as to why your mood drops or your stress level rises. On the app, you can log your mood as often as you want throughout the day. Your mood data is anonymised and only you can see it. As with all your data, it's your data and even we can't link your mood data to you.
In relation to mood tracking, there are two key rules:
- Be honest. It's okay to not be happy all the time. Sometimes a little manageable stress is good for your focus and productivity.
- Be frequent. It only takes a couple of seconds to log your current mood, so log your mood often at various times throughout the day.
You can log your mood by clicking on the mood emojis on the home page or by going to the mood tracking page. It only takes a second so log your mood frequently or when you notice a change in your mood.
Journaling
Journaling has been shown to help people process emotions and boost mood, improve self-awareness, enhance memory, support goal achievement, and promote gratitude. The practice doesn't need to be perfect - simply showing up and writing honestly is what matters most.
In relation to journaling, there are two key rules:
- Write without judgment. Allow your thoughts to flow freely without criticising what emerges. There's no "right" or "wrong" way to journal. Release expectations about perfect grammar, elegant prose, or even coherent thoughts. The journal is your private space where you can be completely honest with yourself without fear of evaluation or criticism. Your journal entries are private to you (even we can't link them to you).
- Consistency over perfection. The power of journaling comes from regular practice rather than occasional perfect entries. Even just a few minutes consistently can be more beneficial than lengthy sessions done sporadically. Establish a sustainable routine that fits your lifestyle, whether daily, several times a week, or as needed for reflection.
If you're struggling to think of what to write, on the journal page there are some starter prompts. Just click on a prompt that resonates with you and it will open up a new journal entry for you. You can review your past entries at any time using the calendar on the journal page.
Meditations
Meditation offers profound benefits for both your mental and physical well-being when practised regularly. The mental and emotional benefits of meditation are:
- Stress reduction: Lowers cortisol levels and helps manage your body's stress response.
- Improved focus and concentration: Strengthens attention span and mental clarity.
- Enhanced self-awareness: Develops a deeper understanding of your thoughts and emotions.
- Better emotional regulation: Creates space between triggers and reactions.
- Reduced anxiety and rumination: Helps quiet the constant chatter of the mind.
We offer guided meditations on the app, but again, there is no right or wrong way to meditate. Do what works for you. Some people like to sit in a quiet space and they are able to quieten the thoughts in their head, or focus on one thing. Some people like to hear music or nature sounds. Some people like to close their eyes, and some prefer not to. The goal is to focus on the present moment without worrying or stressing about anything else.
This focus often clears the mind of thoughts that we have picked up throughout the day and can help us to be calmer, more relaxed, or even provide clarity and focus at work.
Resources
Our resources section contains other tools that are designed to support your well-being.
You can use our "Colour Therapy" tool to promote feelings of calm, relaxation, focus etc. Just follow the instructions on the page.
If you enjoy gamification, you can join well-being "Challenges" to make your well-being practices more regular.
Maybe there are some areas of well-being you'd like to learn about? If that's the case, you can visit the "Courses" section, which has a variety of short courses that you can complete in about 30 minutes each.
Our "Ambient Sounds" generator is ideal for those with tinnitus or needing help concentrating. Looping ambient sounds like white, pink, or brown noise can improve relaxation and concentration. The most common white noises are the sounds of running washing machines, vacuum cleaners, or aircraft.
Ai Assistant
We even have an Ai well-being assistant. This Ai chatbot is here to answer your questions about well-being or give advice about well-being and wellness topics. Be warned, it has been trained only on well-being and wellness, and it won't help with your children's homework or writing your next presentation at work.
As with all unmonitored Ai tools, it can sometimes make mistakes, so please be aware of this when reading its responses. We use Anthropic's Claude Ai tool for this feature, so any questions you submit are sent to Anthropic for processing.
Profile
Finally, if you click on your name in the top right corner of the app, you can access your "Profile". From your profile, you can reset your password, and view charts and graphs about your well-being activity. Additionally, you can relaunch the onboarding flow. Lastly, you can also delete your account or delete your data from here too. Please bear in mind that deleting your account is permanent. Your data cannot be retrieved after account deletion to comply with data protection legislation.
Before deleting your account, please download your data using the CSV or JSON download buttons. You can always download your data at any point to see what data we hold about you. Your email address is encrypted at rest in our database, and your data is anonymised for your privacy.
